- The Firebird / The Miraculous Mandarin
Igor Stravinskij / Béla Bartók
Ballets
Premiere 19. 3. 2010
Two ballets in one evening.
The romantic story of the Firebird is built upon a Russian folk tale, and lives forever both in the soul of people and in the everlasting and mystique music of Stravinskij. The starting point for me was always, behind the myth of the tale, the suggestivity within music. It is "miracle-music", something that, when you listen to it, shows a strange society with a boy and girl within. There is the "Bird of Fire" living in the soul of the boy and this bird is able to make love alive and metamorphose to be seen. / Attila Egerházi
