Carl Zeller
Operetta
Premiere 13. 12. 2008
Another popular operetta evergreen by Carl Zeller, the servant at the Imperial and Royal Ministry of Education in Vienna. The immortal tuneful story of mutual love between the Tyrolean bird seller, Adam, and the fair young postwoman, Christl, which has to overcome lordly wiles and intriques. The operetta is dominated by deathless melodies „When One Gives Roses in Tyrol“ or „Never fight with women, you'll easily be defeated“ and they made us present The Bird Seller on South Bohemian stage again just after 22 years!
