65 years will soon have passed since the moment that the American musical of the same name by director and dancer Gene Kelly first appeared on the silver screen. Just as the later movie – as well as the theatre – evergreen from Some Like It Hot, the authors of “Singin’” set the story in the Golden Twenties. This ageless love story from Hollywood of those years that irresistibly but especially lovingly parodies the confusion around the invention of sound in the movie industry found its way on to theatre stages long ago. Let us go back to the year 1927, along with the famous actor couple Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, who face a tough task – not only do they talk on the screen for the first time, but they also sing!
